o Good for low or steep sloped roofs
o Good resistance to fire and wind

o Very expensive
o Slate is also very durable
o Made from natural materials
o Heavy weight
o For steep slopes only
o Good resistance to fire and wind

Wood

o Moderate price
o Not very durable
o Made from natural materials
o Moderate weight
o Moderate to steep slopes
o Good wind resistance, poor fire resistance

Tile (Concrete, Cement and Clay)

o Moderate (Concrete), Expensive (Cement and Clay)
o Very durable
o Made from natural materials
o Heavy Weight
o Moderate to steep slopes
o Excellent fire resistance, moderate to low wind resistance

Plastic Polymer

o Moderate price
o Very durable
o Can be made from recycled materials and can be recycled when replaced
o Light to moderate weight
o Moderate to steep slopes
o Good resistance to fire and wind
